TheDreamCameTrueIwannawelcomeeverybodyhereinthischeerteam.Thankyouforcomingherethismorningtostandonmysidecheeringmeon.It’smydreamtohavetheopportunitytochallengealltheforeignathletestothechampionshipatthisgreatoccasion:2008OlympicGames.Now,thedreamcametrue.AsanathleteofChina,I’mheretowinthegoldmedaloforienteeringforourmotherland.I’msoproudofbeingoneofthebestplayersintheworld.ButcouldyoubelieveIhadbeenalazygirlwhenIwasinJuniorHigh.I’mnotkidding!Atthattime,runningwasmylastfavorite.Ireallydon’tknowhowtodescribethefirsttimeIwasonthetrack.Itwashorrible.WhenIstartedtorun,Iwassimplyoutofbreath.AndwhileItouchedthefinishingline,Ireallydidn’tknowifIwasstillalive.It’ssofunny,huh?Butit’strue,Idid.Well,somethinghappenedandchangedthesituation.WewontherightofholdingtheOlympicGamesin2008.Afterthat,sportsbecameakindofgameincampus.Andtherearemanysportsclubsinschool.Onedaysomeoneaskedme:“areyougonnatryoneofthose?”FirstIfeltsowired.“Trytogetintosportsclubs?Areyoukidding?”Isaid.Andshegoes:“Whynot??It’snothardatall,andsofascinating!”SoIdidtriedoneandIwassoluckytobecomeoneofthosewhodidorienteering.Thatisafantasticsport!Youneedtorunandfindwheretogojustbyusingamapandacompass.It’swasn’tpopularinChinaatfirst.Butwhenwehearditmightbecomeaneweventin2008,wedidpracticedhard,andaimedtowinthefirstChampionoforienteeringintheworld.Whenwepracticed,therewerealotoftroubles.Youknow,sometimesyouneedtogowithyourfeet,butsometimesyouneedtogowithyourheart.Insomesituations,wefacedthedifficultiesandproblems.Andweneedtosolvethatthroughteamworkandstrongwillpower.Sowecanrunfaster,gohigherandbestronger.Thatiswhatwesay—Olympicspirit.Nowthedreamcametrue.I’mstandingherewithallmybodyandmyheartputinsports.SodothepeoplefromallovertheworldtoHEREattheOlympicGames.It’stheOlympicGamesthatmakeustogether.Wearehereforabigdayofsport;wearehereforadreamofsports.Wearehereforaspiritofsportthatencourages
