SomyadministrationandtheRepublicanCongreenactedthelargesttaxreliefsinceRonaldReaganwasintheWhiteHouse.WecuttaxesforeveryAmericanwhopaysincometaxes.Wedoubledthechildtaxcredit.Wereducedthemarriagepenalty.Wecuttaxesonsmallbusine.Wecuttaxesoncapitalgaianddividendstopromoteinvestmentandjo.Andtorewardfamilybusineesandfarmersforalifetimeofhardworkandsavings,weputthedeathtaxonthepathtoextinction.

Nowtheresultsofthesetaxcutsarein.ThetaxcutswepaedhaveleftmorethanatrilliondollarsinthehandsofAmericanworkers,families,andsmallbusinees,andyouhaveusedthatmoneytofuelastrongandgrowingeconomy.Lastyear,oureconomygrewfasterthananyothermajorindustrializednation.Thisweek,welearnedthatoureconomygrewby1.6percentduringthethirdquarterofthisyear.Asweexpected,thisrateisslowerthaninpreviousquarters.Yettheevidencestillpointstoavibranteconomythatisprovidingmorejoandbetterwagesforourworkersandhelpingreducethefederaldeficit.
