om there, but I do remember afterwards I just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. Back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. Thanks to all the help I got from my special friends. My confidence was restored. After rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, I am here today. From all that I’ve been through I’ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if I want my life to go on well I have to let go of my past failure. So today, with out fear, I am tripping my elephant again.

我又一次在绊大象

从前，一只小蚂蚁在路上走着，走着走着，忽然感觉到地在颤动，回头一看是一只大象正朝他走来。于是他很快用土盖住身体，不幸一只脚忘在了外面。一只麻雀看到了一切，她飞下来想要取笑一下这只蚂蚁，说：“咳，胆小鬼，小心你的脚，露出来了！” 蚂蚁开始有些尴尬，但一会不紧不慢地告诉麻雀说：“小声点，我要在绊那只大象。”

今天，我站在这个讲台上。但周围的一切让我想到的却并不是一段有趣的回忆。大概是去年的这个时间，我在南京参加另一个全国英语演讲比赛。那是我第一次参加大赛，当然压力非常大。经过压抑无眠的一整夜，我走上了演讲台。那时我有史以来最差的一次演讲。我不记得自己怎么从讲台上走下来的，只记得当时很想找一个地方躲进去再也不出来就想我故事中的蚂蚁。回到学校，我花了好一段时间才恢复过来。幸好有朋友和老师的鼓励，我又一次有了勇气和信心。经过一轮又一轮的演讲和回答问题，我今天站在了这里。让也我领悟了一个道理：一个好的将来是建立在忘掉过去的基础上的，直到真正忘记过去的失败生活才会变的美好。今天，我没有惧怕，又一次站到了大象的面前。

Hold Fast To Your Dreams

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every vally shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.

However, we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great.
