On behalf of the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) and AEI (Australia Education International), I am very pleased to welcome interest from China's students in study in Australia. Australia offers a very high standard of education and a unique experience having a very friendly, safe and healthy environment.
Australia is currently home to approximately 70 000 Chinese students undertaking study in fields as diverse as medicine to tourism management and we trust that all students attending this year's CIEET Education Show will consider Australia as a possible choice for your further studies. We are pleased to note that interest in vocational education is growing. Australia's vocational training is recognised as among the best in the world.
This year, over 40 of Australia's leading educational institutions will participate in CIEET Exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou and students can be assured of a first-class education experience.
I take this opportunity to congratulate the organisers of CIEET for their efforts in coordination of this major undertaking and am sure that this Exhibition will contribute substantially to closer cooperation between Australia and China.
