myfellowamerica,you,too,mustplayyourpartinourrenewal.ichallengeanewgenerationofyoungamericatoaseasonofservice,toactonyouridealism,byhelpingtroubledchildren,keepingcompanywiththoseinneed,recoectingourtorncommunities.thereissomuchtobedone.enough,indeed,formillioofotherswhoarestillyounginirit,togiveofthemselvesinservice,too.inservingwerecognizeasimple,butpowerful,truth:weneedeachother,andwemustcareforoneanother.todaywedomorethancelebrateamerica,werededicateourselvestotheveryideaofamerica,anideaborninrevolution,andrenewedthroughtwocenturiesofchallenge,anideatemperedbytheknowledgethatbutforfate,we,thefortunateandtheunfortunate,mighthavebeeneachother;anideaeobledbythefaiththatournationcansummonfromitsmyriaddiversity,thedeepestmeasureofunity;anideainfusedwiththeconvictionthatamerica''sjourneylong,heroicjourneymustgoforeverupward.
