nowtheresultsofthesetaxcutsarein.thetaxcutswepaedhaveleftmorethanatrilliondollarsinthehandsofamericanworkers,families,andsmallbusinees,andyouhaveusedthatmoneytofuelastrongandgrowingeconomy.lastyear,oureconomygrewfasterthananyothermajorindustrializednation.thisweek,welearnedthatoureconomygrewby1.6percentduringthethirdquarterofthisyear.asweexpected,thisrateisslowerthaninpreviousquarters.yettheevidencestillpointstoavibranteconomythatisprovidingmorejoandbetterwagesforourworkersandhelpingreducethefederaldeficit.

sinceaugust2003,theamericaneconomyhascreatedmorethan6.6millionnewjo,includingover1.7millionjointhepast12monthsalone.realtake-homewagesareupby2.2percentoverthepastyear,whichmeaanextra$1,300forthetypicalfamilyoffourwithtwowageearners.andtheeconomicgrowthurredbytaxcutshashelpedreducethedeficit.taxrevenueshavesoaredastheeconomyhasgrown,allowingustomeetourgoalofcuttingthefederaldeficitinhalf--threeyearsaheadofschedule.
