ineachofthesevitalareasthatihavementioned,wecanclearlyaccomplishsomuchmorebywalkingtogetherratherthanstandingapart.thatiswhyweshouldworktoseethattheproductiverelatiohipwenowenjoybloomsintoafullerpartnershipinthenewcentury.
ifthatistohaen,itisveryimportantthatweunderstandeachotherbetter,thatweunderstandbothourcommoninterestandoursharedairatioandourhonestdifferences.ibelievethekindofopen,directexchangethatpresidentjiangandihadonsaturdayatourpreconference--whichiknowmanyofyouwatchedontelevision--canbothclarifyandnarrowourdifferences,and,moreimportant,byallowingpeopletounderstandanddebateanddiscuthesethingscangiveagreaterseeofconfidencetoourpeoplethatwecanmakeabetterfuture.
